About Media Producers
Every organization has a moment before its team page fills in with individual names and faces. MMA is in that moment right now — and rather than leave the gap blank, this entry stands in for everyone already part of the work: the people MMA exists to serve, and the people already showing up to build it alongside our founder.
That's a wide group by design. Media enthusiasts who show up to a workshop because they want to learn the craft, not because it's their job yet. Production assistants keeping a shoot on schedule — coiling cable, running slate, doing the work that makes everyone else's work possible. Solo indie filmmakers piecing a project together with borrowed gear and a small crew of friends. Photographers documenting a shoot, a community event, or their own independent work.
It's also the people who show up in less visible ways: workshop participants trading notes with instructors, volunteers helping run a studio session, community organizers connecting MMA to the neighborhoods it serves, and media professionals across the Midwest — Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio — whose stories are the actual reason any of this exists.
What connects all of them isn't a job title. It's the same throughline the rest of this site keeps coming back to: real studio space, real training, real advocacy, built by and for the people actually doing the work — not around them.
As MMA grows, this entry is meant to shrink, not grow — replaced piece by piece with the real names, faces, and stories of the people it represents. If that's you, Get Involved is the place to start.
